My heart is broken at the loss of my dear friend, Melissa. When my grandson was diagnosed with autism she promised to pray for him. She faithfully did. She considered him our special angel. When things were difficult she would say to me that he was going to be a great man of God some day. One of my last visits I brought her a picture of Jackson and she smiled and gently touched his face , “my special boy, my special little angel”. Her love for him never waivered.
Melissa, I will remember your laughter and great sense of humor. I’ll remember our good times at New Life and the Tuesday women’s bible study. I’ll remember your faith, courage, compassion and bravery. I’ll remember how you loved your friends and even when facing cancer you always asked how we were doing. I will remember that one day we will rejoice together in heaven. May God welcome you and say “Well done my good and faithful daughter!”

Melissa and I were only fifteen years part! She is like an angel send from heaven! I often babysit for her, her sister Susanna and their brother Sean in Northport when they were babies!
When Melissa was a young girl she would often visit the family in Washington Heights! She and I would walk to 181th Street to buy her a new outfit! We would return to 168th Street apartment and prepare a bubble bath after which I would cure her hair and put her in her new outfit! We always had great laughs along a time!
When Melissa was older she was one of my bride maids in my Wedding!
When Melissa married Carlos it was a great celebration! I remember my mother saying to me that she had pick a gem in Carlos!
Carlos is one in a million and has been devoted to Melissa throughout this horrific period! He is truly a gentleman and a scholar! Please all pray for him in his time to come! He is a wonderful addition to The Towey Clan! God Bless him and Melissa always! We love you Carlos!
