Obituary of Roger Hafner

Roger Gerald Hafner, of New York, NY, died peacefully on Ash Wednesday, March 6th, 2019 at NY Presbyterian Hospital. He was surrounded loved ones at the time of his passing. Roger was 77 years old.

Beloved son of Adolf and Alice (nee Sundsback). Cherished father of Lisa and Debbie. Dear brother of Eleanor Miller (Robert). Loving father in law to Sean Kerr (Lisa) and grandfather to Megan Kerr. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Roger loved to laugh and even more, he loved to make people laugh. He was a dedicated (if often disappointed) fan of the NY Giants and the NY Mets. Roger discovered his love of cats late in life, having adopted sister cats Sunny and Lindy, Stevie (rip) and Buddy. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. The Prayer Service will take place at 3:30PM, followed by the Air Force Honor Guard Ceremony at 4PM.
