She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!
- Lord Byron

Uncle Roger will be remembered as a kind, warm and tremendously fun part of my childhood. When I was little he would walk around the house (in a robot voice swinging his arms) saying: "Linda is illogical -- she serves no purpose." He teased me relentlessly. But, when I became very sick while visiting his home and had to have surgery, he relinquished the master bedroom and slept on the couch so that I could be tended to and recover. When I would sit next to him watching a football game, he would ask me "what inning" we were in. LOL! When he would visit our home in Florida, he would dance in the living room, clapping his hands moving side to side. I danced "The Roger" for years. Although time and distance separated our lives, I will always hold a special place in my heart for Roger and the love and laughter he added to my childhood. He added joy to the lives around him. Rest in peace Uncle Roger.

Dad, our hearts are absolutely broken. There are a million words and yet there are no words. Your absence is profound and it is difficult to breathe at times. You were the BEST dad and I pray you left this world knowing how much you were loved. All of our wonderful memories, and your humor - which we thankfully inherited - will sustain us through these rough times. Until we meet again, dad...I love you and miss you....Lisa
