John J. Owens, age 64, of Woodside, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at home. John was born February 7, 1953 in Bronx, NY. He was Retired Elevator Mechanic with Local #3. Beloved husband of Marie (nee Leavy). Loving father of Elizabeth Mitchell and her husband Declan and the late Tommy Owens. Cherished grandfather of Molly and Emma Mitchell. Dear brother-in-law of Joseph and Mary Leavy. John is also survived by beloved friends Visitation will be Friday, September 8 from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at St. Teresa RCC, 44th Street And 50th Avenue, Woodside, NY. Cremation will be in Fresh Pond Crematory privately.
