Obituary of Ginno Blancaflor, MD

Our beloved Ginno Blancaflor, passed away too young at the age of 45 in New York on Wednesday evening June 1, 2016 from complications of a recent diagnosis of lymphoma. Ginno was born April 5, 1971, in Queens, New York and was a lifelong New York resident. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leticia Catalan Blancaflor who died on 1/22/1993 and Generoso Blancaflor on 5/29/2000. In 1994, he received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences Cum laude from Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education/ CUNY Medical School City University of New York (CUNY) and his Doctor of Medicine with Honors in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology at New York Medical College in 1996. With 15 years in the medical industry, he was a Senior Attending at the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center as a Clinical instructor, Emergency Medicine residency training program. He was also an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center and an international guest lecturer. He had a zest for life and travel, a passion for learning and bringing family and loved ones together. We will miss his infectious laugh. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and helping us celebrate his life. Visitation will be Saturday, June 4 from 5-9Pm and Sunday, June 5 from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Immaculate Conception, 86-45 Edgerton Boulevard, Jamaica, NY.
