Obituary of James P Shanahan

James P. Shanahan of Sunnyside, died on March 8th, 2014 at the age of 76 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. He retired from Con Edison. He was a US Army Medical Corps Veteran. He was the past President of the Kiwanis Club of Sunnyside as well as a volunteer for the Queens County Special Olympics. He was married for 52 years to his beloved wife Regina (nee Griffith) He is survived by his loving children- Regina Grosso and her husband John, Michael Shanahan, and Theresa Gough and her husband Timothy. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren- Rory, John Paul, Connor, Ryan, Sarah, Cameron, Ally, Mackenzie, and Brendan. The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 11, at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home from the hours of 2-5PM and 7-930PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Teresa RC Church on Wednesday at 10:15am. The family has requested donations to be made in lieu of flowers to "Relay For Life of Seaford- Team Shanahan".
