Robert C. "Bob" Hagerman, long-time resident of Woodside, NY died peacefully on Sunday, surrounded by his loved ones. Bob was a devoted husband of more than 47 years to Diane (nee McCarthy) and a beloved father to their three children, Robert, Diane Ryan, and John. He was a cherished grandfather to Melanie, Christopher, Tara, Audrey and Jillian. Additionally he was a loving father-in-law to Karen, Alan and Michelle. Bob was the fourth of nine children born to the late Robert G. and Margaret Kemper Hagerman of McSherrystown, PA. He is survived by his siblings, Jean Conrad (Richard), Barbara Clabaugh (John), Audrey Funk (Burnell), Philip (Joan), Patricia McMaster (Charles) and Richard. He is predeceased by brothers William and James. After his graduation from Delone Catholic High School, Bob joined the Hanover Shoe company where -- with the exception of his time in military service -- he remained a loyal employee for more than 40 years. Bob honorably served his country in the US Army, stationed in Germany. Following his discharge, he returned to Hanover Shoe where his responsibilities took him to Washington, DC, Chicago and ultimately, New York. Bob settled down in Woodside, Queens where he met, fell in love with, and married the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ethel (Ray) McCarthy. He is remembered as a loyal and dedicated family man by his brothers and sisters in law, Lawrence and Susan, Vincent and Leslie, and Marian McCarthy, and his many nieces and nephews. For more than 50 years Bob was an active and enthusiastic member of the Knights of Columbus, where he leaves behind countless friends and acquaintances. In lieu of flowers, The family of Robert C.
