Obituary of Lucy Montoya

On Thursday, June 6, 2024, Lucy E Montoya, loving wife and mother of two, passed away at the age of 83. Lucy was born November 17,1940 in Medellin, Colombia to Hercelia(Lila) Gomez de Rodriguez and Elias Rodriguez. She married Rodolfo Montoya on December 18,1961. They migrated to the United States in 1962, to start their new life together. They raised two children, Claudia and Rodolfo JR. Lucy's passion was her family. She loved to make to cook, decorate, and DYI house projects. She wrote poetry. She also had the love of fashion. Centered around all her talents she happily shared was her love of Christ, the Blessed Mother and St Jude. Lucy is preceded in death by her mother Lila and father Elias. She is survived by her loving husband Rodolfo, Children Claudia and Rodolfo, grandson Matthew Holman, two sisters, nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 4-8 PM at Edward D Lynch Funeral Home, located at 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Sebastian's Roman Catholic Church, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10:45 A.M. The church is located at 58-o2 Roosevelt Avenue, Woodside, NY 11377. The Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, located 49-02 Laurel Hill Boulevard, Woodside, NY, following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
