Obituary of Sheron Acosta Miller

Sheron Acosta Miller, age 76, died April 20, 2024, after an extensive battle with cancer. She was born on March 16, 1948 in Bayshore, NY. Sheron had a warm and loving personality. She was a devoted mother and wife, married to her late husband, Bill, for almost 30 years who she sadly lost in 2008. Sheron held several jobs in her lifetime which included working at a passport agency and the US Post Office, but spent the last 15 years of her professional career as a Teacher's Aid at P.S.11Q. She had a passion for teaching children. Outside of work, she enjoyed traveling, art exhibits, theater, music, sports and puzzles. She had a tremendous love for animals as well, evident in her care for the family dogs, Bailey and Buddy. Sheron will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, neighbor and friend. She is survived by her sisters, Susanne and Saundra, her brother, Stanley, and her son, Billy. The family takes comfort in knowing she's now at peace. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 24 from 4-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY with a Prayer Service at 7:30PM. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla on Thursday, April 25 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any donations in Sheron's memory be made to The American Cancer Society.
