To all the Walker Family , extended families, relatives and friends I just now found out about Jimmys passing and I want to wish you all my deepest condolences on his sad passing.
I worked with Jimmy at Rosenwach tanks back in 1985 along time ago now but I always remembered Jimmys kindness and wit.
He was a larger than life character and the hardest worker I ever met. I had just landed from Ireland and Jimmy took me under his wing and was very kind to me.
I always used to laugh at the way he used to pronounce the word bag as he had an unusual.american twang when he said some words which I always used to try and get him.to repeat it for my benifit.
I only worked with Jimmy for a year or so when I was 23 and he had a big impact on me with his sense of honesty and fair play that I never forgot him.
Its been 37 or 38 years since I met Jimmy as I left New York for the west coast gave up drink and never went back.
Jimmy used to give me alot of advice on not drinking, smoking and life in general.which I took in the end and quit both thankfully.
I had great fun working in Rosenwach tanks and it was very hard but I always loved been partnered with Jimmy.
When Jimmy was on the job there was sure to be alot of banther and fun but the job akways got done right and on time.
Thanks again Jimmy for your friendship and kindness..
Rest In Peace My Old Friend.

My deepest sympathies to Teresa and family and the extended Walker and Deane families on the sad passing of Jim. My late mum Angela spoke with both fondness and respect many times of Jim. Angela and Teresa grew up together as next door neighbours at Farranferris Avenue on Cork's Northside and as best friends. Indeed the Deane girls were matchmakers in bringing my parents Angela and Larry together for the first time at a birthday party at the Deane household. On the day of her funeral in the church dad asked me when speaking about my mother to let the congregation know how they met in 1957 and for him it was love at first sight. When she left us in 2015 he bravely kept going but missed his one true love, his sweetheart, his rock and compass. Equally Teresa I know you will deeply miss Jim but I hope that in the goodness of time your grief, loss and sadness will be replaced by wonderful and happy memories shared with Jim. Those memories are precious and don't be afraid to relive them as they help keep those special people close to us. I will keep you In my thoughts and prayers. Strangely Jim's funeral will be on my 60th birthday. In Billy Joel's song Lullabye (a Long Island connection) he tries to answer an unexpected and challenging question from his young daughter "daddy what happens when you die?". His response through the song is that you continue to live on in people's hearts and they carry you with them. On behalf of the
Fleming and Williamson families rest in peace Jim Walker, a man from Yeats county under the shade of Benbulbin and close to the beautiful Glencar waterfall.
Think where man's glory most begins and ends
