Your side of the bed is cold and empty babe, except for your baby Lucy who insists on sleeping parallel with your pillows with her nose wedged in between. I guess she’s catching your scent which is still present in the bed and probably wondering when you will be coming home. Poor thing does not realize that the next time they meet will be at the Rainbow Bridge. Miss you babe! How I wish you were here.

My Dear, Dear Maria, I've never met anyone like you. You were my fellow Aquarian. The moment we met, we were inseparable. You taught me how to drive a stick shift, how to get a deal, and never travel without shopping bags or tupperware. You always remembered our birthdays, and doecisl family events. It wasn't a party until you showed up. You were, my go to girl, for secrets and gossiping. You were generous to a fault always bringing the babies a gift that you thought out individually for each child. You were just a phone call away with, "what's up...what's going on". Always having time to listen day or night. How I miss you! I go to call you, or to send you the latest picture, which you always craved, of the kids and I realize your not there. I'm heartbroken. I'm bereft with grief over your loss. I speak to you still. I pray for you. I know your listening to me. We were sisters. I miss you so. Love you and never forget you, Your Amigo Kathy!

~ FAREWELL DEAREST FRIEND ~ Over forty years ago We all happened to meet And our lives at the time Were not always so sweet We all had our children, one by one We stayed close and together, and man, we had fun We were young, we were pretty And together we stayed I’m so happy and fortunate For the memories we’d made On that terrible night That my Joe had the stroke And we all knew the topic Was not a joke I looked over my shoulder And what did I see You were standing there quietly In support for me It didn’t take long For the girls to arrive And right in that ER We became alive With our laughter so loud And so hard to control It was you, dear Maria God rest your soul As we drove to the cemetery Our driver had to think “ This guy we’re escorting Must have been a fink “ We laughed and we laughed And we laughed again We will miss you Maria We will miss our dear friend There was never a time Not a single one When we three got together And didn’t have fun God broke our hearts But will mend them my friend He will bring us together We will laugh in the end . I met Maria working at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. From the beginning she made me smile. She was kookie and fun. My favorite thing was if you were looking for something and couldn’t find it, you had to turn a cup over and leave the room. When you returned, the item would appear. Maria was manic & soothing all at the same time and I enjoyed her. To know Maria was to love Maria, like you’d been friends forever. That light will not be forgotten! Maria, because of you I will never leave home without Tupperware again. I remember when you, Kathy and my mom came to my graduation in Miami - you made sure to bring me all the toilet paper and tissues from the hotel. That was our Maria! There are so many special moments from over the years that I will forever cherish. I hear your laugh and it brings a tear to my eye knowing I won’t hear it again. You always brought a smile to my face, even in the worst of times. I miss you now and will miss you always. I love you Maria.
