Obituary of Diane Hagerman

Diane (McCarthy) Hagerman 1939-2022 Diane M. Hagerman (nee McCarthy), 83, of Woodside, NY, passed away on December 21, 2022 in East Northport, NY Diane was a native and long-time resident of Woodside, and devoted wife of 47 years to the late Robert C. Hagerman. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Ethel (Ray) McCarthy. Diane is survived by her loving children Robert G. Hagerman (Karen), Diane M. Ryan (Alan), and John L. Hagerman (Michelle), and her adored grandchildren Melanie Hagerman, Christopher Hagerman, Tara Hagerman, Audrey Ryan, and Jillian Ryan. She was predeceased by her brother Lawrence J. McCarthy Jr. and her sister Marian V. McCarthy. Diane was a highly regarded elementary school teacher for over 35 years at Our Lady of Sorrows school in Corona, NY where she taught generations of families and mentored scores of colleagues. Diane is also survived by her brother, Vincent J. McCarthy, sisters-in-law, Susan (Riscen) McCarthy, Leslie (Grysko) McCarthy, and Patricia (Hagerman) McMaster, her brothers-in-law Richard Conrad, Burnell Funk, and Charles McMaster, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27 from 4-7PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Funeral Mass will be held 10:45 am on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at St. Sebastians RCC, 58th Street And Roosevelt Avenue, Woodside, NY In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Diane's memory to support Hospice House of the Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk.
