Obituary of James Edward Petkewicz

James Edward Petkewicz died 12/11/2022. He was born 11/8/1962 in Flushing, NY to the late Rosemary Allemann & John Petkewicz. Jim was a retired Building Maintenance worker for the NYPD. He grew up in College Point, Queens where at a young age his maternal grandfather taught him and his 2 brothers, John & Robert about boating. The salt water air, open waters, relaxing atmosphere and the friends that were made got Jim hooked on boating. He named his boat the "Wanderer." If Jim was not home for dinner you always knew where to find him. The boat was his home. Family and Friends were not ready to say good bye to a free spirited guy. He leaves behind many life long friends and acquaintances. He is truly missed by his brothers, John (Michelle) of Palm Coast, Fl. and Robert (Susan ) of Hopewell Junction, NY. His nephew, David and nieces, Arianna & Jennifer Petkewicz. Also remembered is his companion and best friend Sandy. There are no words for our loss, but, just knowing he is finally home with his mom, dad and grandparents gives some comfort. To the "Wanderer" we love and miss you dearly. Visitation will be Friday, December 16 from 4-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Prayer Service will be held at 7PM. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Burial will be in Flushing Cemetery, 11:00 am.
