Obituary of Olmedo Falcones

El señor Olmedo Falcones Rodriguez de ascendencia italiana nacio el 9 de octubre de 1923 en Bahia de Caraquez, Manabi Ecuador. Cuando joven se alisto en la marina de guerra del Ecuador (navy) luego conocio a la Srta. Gloria Celeste Andrade con quien contrajo matrimonio civil y ecleciastico procreando 6 hijos: Manuel, Thalia, Sergio, Ligia, Xavier y Sarita. Trabajo muchos años como Marino Mercante y en ese trabajo viajo por todo el mundo 5 veces; todo el Continente Americano, Europa, por todos los paises del Mar Mediterraneo, el Medio Oriente, todo Asia, todo el Continente African, Australia y Nueva Zelanda inclusive. En 1967 deja de trabajar en las Navieras y decide con su familia ir a vivir a USA, New York. Trabaja en el "Empire State Building" luego trabaja para el "Marine Terminal Airport" hasta que se retira jubilado. Ahora despues de cumplir 98 años de edad y gozar de buena salud y ser muy creyente de Dios fue llamado por el Todopoderoso a estar junto a el. Mr. Olmedo Falcones Rodriguez of Italian descent was born on October 9, 1923 in Bahia de Caraquez, Manabi, Ecuador. When he was young he enlisted in the Ecuadorian Navy then he met and fell in love with Miss Gloria Celeste Andrade, whom he married. They had six children: Manuel Falcones, Thalia Falcones, Sergio Falcones, Ligia Rodriguez, Xavier Falcones and Sarita Heffernan, all of which survive and mourn the loss of their father. Olmedo Falcones worked for many years as a Merchant Marine and circled the world many times during an era that travel was long, difficult and considered a luxury. During his travels he visited North America, Europe, all the countries in the Mediterranean Sea, the Middle East, Asia, the African continent, Australia and New Zealand which he loved. In 1967 he stopped working as a Merchant Marine and decided to move his family to the United States and they settled in New York. He worked in the Empire State Building and Marine Terminal airport until his retirement. At 98 years old and in relatively good health, being a devout religious man, the Lord has called him home by his side. He is survived by his six children, 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, February 17 from 10-12:00PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. A prayer service will take place at 11:30AM. Burial and graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn Road, Farmingdale, NY.
