Obituary of Miriam R Voity

Miriam Rosario "Loli" Voity, age 70, formerly of Sunnyside, New York, passed away on February 1st, 2022 in Woodside, New York. Miriam was born in a small town in Colombia, called Planeta Rica, to Tulia Paternina and Francisco Mercado, on May 29th, 1951. She migrated to the United States at the age of 15 with her family and grew up in Sunnyside. She is predeceased by her husband Robert James Voity Sr, whom she met in 1970 and married in January of 1972. Miriam was a devoted homemaker and woman of faith. She was passionate about her children and grandchildren. Her heart filled with joy when dancing and her smile would light up any room. Her laugh was infectious and her hugs legendary. She was fierce and kind. She was tough but sweet. She was the quintessential Mama Bear. She is survived by her three sons: Robert James Jr., Christopher, and Sean, as well as her 8 grandchildren Funeral service will be held at Lynch Funeral Home, located at 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY, 11104, on February 11th, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm.
