Laura Sanchez of Woodside, New York died on Saturday, January 8, 2022. She was born in Ecuador March 8, 1946 and immigrated to the U.S. when she was 25 years old. Loving sister to Victoria, Susana, Ruperto and the late Carmen Estrella, Pablo and Zoila. Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Laura was a devoted wife to her husband of 58 years Nabor Sanchez. Beloved mother of Jose, Grace, Aracely, Maria, and Laurie Sanchez in whom she instilled love for country, traditions and self reliance. She was a graduate of International Career Institute where she studied Patternmaking and worked for various notable brands. After retirement she kept herself active serving the church, tending to her garden and travelling throughout Europe and the Middle East. She never imagined the life she lived coming from a small town; she accomplished so much. She was loving and caring and enjoyed spending time with her family and her cats, Bella and Patches. She will be missed by family and friends, yet her legacy will continue with her children. She created and lived the American Dream which is her legacy to her family and others.
