I did not know Mr. Boehler personally but when his brother, Alexander, died he contacted our religious organization and asked us to send our appeal letters to him. Every time a gift arrived in the mail from him it made me smile because he wanted to carry on his brother's legacy of giving to a Catholic organization in the South that helps a lot of people. As far as I know, he never visited us but still wanted to help us with our work. May the angels receive him in heaven and may he enjoy eternal rest with Alexander and other loved ones.

I was an altar boy with Bob at St. Raphael’s in the late 60s/early 70s. I would typically volunteer for the 6:30 am mass on sundays in the summer so I could run out and catch the bus to rockaway and Bob was a fixture serving that mass. He was 20 years older than me and was a great mentor to a young altar server. I was just reminiscing with another sunnyside kid about being altar boys so I googled Bob and was saddened to hear of his passing. But I am happy to read he remained active in St Raphael’s over the years. My condolences to his family and friends. Robert Ondrovic

Uncle Bobby you were an amazing Uncle to me and my son. I will miss picking you up, our phone calls, going to church together, your laughter and your smile. May you RIP. Until we meet again. Love always your niece Maddy.
