He loved to take credit for Manny and my marriage claiming it was all because of him. In so many ways, he was correct. My dearest almost lifelong friend is Ellen and her parents welcomed me in and loved me for the past 48 plus years. My grandmother was one of the people on his postal route and he loved telling me what a good woman she was. He thought she was great (especially after she brought him a bottle of scotch while he was in the hospital :-)
I have so many amazing memories, I viewed so many acts of kindness, so many great conversations, such a sincere concern and great pride and advice for our children.
I wish I had words to express what a GOOD man he was, how just thinking of him brings a warm smile to my face. I feel disjointed with loss but am beyond happy that he is now reunited with his so beloved wife who he missed everyday.
And I am so very grateful to have had him in our lives for so many years. Thank you Ellen for sharing your family all these years.
