I am sorry to be responding so late, but I just found out about Marcus. I am heartbroken for his friends and family as I know he was much loved and such an incredible light--full of joy and compassion and generosity.
I love the moments I spent with Marcus and am so grateful that he was part of my life. I'll never forget watching a game with him at Yankee stadium, going to a less than stellar opening night of a Broadway musical but still having a blast, trying to teach him how to cook while he tried to teach me about rugby, and him tromping through the aftermath of a Snowpocalypse to have Mexican food with me in the Meatpacking District.
Please, accept my deepest condolences. I miss him so...Kalani

When I hear the name Marcus DeCosta I immediately smile, because that’s what my coworker Deb DeCosta would do. Deb’s face would light up every time when she’d announce Marcus was coming or that she and Dana were going down there Their loss is my loss. I will miss that special smile. Marcus DeCosta was a special person

I want people to know how special Marcus was to our family. He was the youngest of seven. I was 16 years old when Marcus was born and when he was little he called me Sue-Sue. Marcus was doted on by all of us, yet many of you might not know us because there was quite an age difference, and he moved to NYC so we did not get together much. We did start having family reunions a few years ago and we laughed so much when we were all together. We had a tradition of lining up on the stairs by age on holidays for a picture, so I am posting this picture from our family reunion a few years ago to give people a glimpse of his family. I will miss him so much. Love to you Marcus from Dana, Susan, Peter, Todd and Jennifer.
