Ester Lim was my dentist for many years. An amazing dentist and a force to be reckoned with. Kind, compassionate and competent. I think of her often all these years later which is how i came to find this page and am able to add my belated condolences.

Dr Lim was my first employer out of dental hygiene school. I worked for this amazing woman for 5 years and it was the best experience ever! Caring and compassionate, she took care of her patients and employees as if they were her family. We had MANY great times with Dr Lim, even keeping in touch over the years after I moved to New Jersey. I was so sad to see this obituary when searching to show a coworker my "first boss" out of college. God Bless you Ester....Rest in peace

My sincerest condolences to her family. I was so suddened and shock to know of her demise only today through a common friend. (Alistair Bradley)! Dr. Ester Lim was my beautiful dentist from 1989 to 2012. She is the best dentist for me; very smart, dedicated, competent, professional, disciplined, down-to-earth, very helpful and caring person. She was honest, brave, frank and never known to hold back... she told you like it is, at times brutal when needed but always for your own good which to me showed that she has the kindest and biggest heart. She always tried to achieve perfection in her work and very few people know that she has attained the highest level of competency in her profession! When she found out I lived in Australia, she told me that she was disappointed not able to start her career in Australia, as it was closer to our homeland but never regretted her move here in US where she was a success!
When you leave her clinic, you always felt you had the best treatment. I met her mom and niece in one of my visits. I moved to South Carolina and still went to her as I couldn't find an excellent dentist like her and of course, I missed her(!). Although our careers are different, she was in medical and I was in IT, we just clicked and of course since I am from the Philippines, we became close, more than friends, like sisters. We told each other stories ("personal tsismisan time", about our families, relatives, friends, our struggles and success in our careers, love life, politics, everything, you name it!) and laughed a lot about our escapades in our busy lives. She was so thrilled when I told her I got married and she did meet my husband when I went to visit her at her new office and she was so happy for the both of us! My dearest Ester, I will miss your laugh, beauty and sisterly friendship. I will miss you terribly in my heart and I will pray for you always. Never will I forget you my dearest friend. I thank God for the blessing of your friendship.

Ester was my dentist for many years and was a strong, compassionate, extremely competent professional woman that I always held in the highest regard. We had many short dental visits that turned into long deep conversations into the subjects that interested her the most. She worked through health issues that would have stopped the strongest and without complaint. Her professionalism was such that she made sure her patients were taken care of as best she could when she could no longer continue her practice.
I will miss Ester and I send my condolences to her family and friends and everyone she touched in such a positive way in her life.

Ester and I have been friends from way back when. We helped get AAWD (the American Association of Women Dentists) started in NYC and were friends ever since. I remember her for her salty humor, love of life, and dedication to the field of dentistry. RIP Ester. We miss you and your beautiful smile.

Ester was known as a dedicated, compassionate, energetic professional and above all her sense of humor made her the shinning light or beacon of every event she attended. Ester was generous with her time and talent , always putting the needs of others above hers . Her commitment to her profession was beyond words , whether it was her role as a member of the NY State Board for Dentistry, The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA) formerly The North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners (NERB) , the Greater NY Dental meeting, or the NY State Education Department , Office of Professional Discipline , she gave of herself wholeheartedly . Ester even ventured into the Real Estate arena as an agent for Halstead and extended the same enthusiasm , commitment and dedication ensuring that those seeking help navigating the NY housing market would have a seamless experience. REST in PEACE my friend , your work is done . We all benefited from our relationship with you, especially your jokes. Reneida E. Reyes

I just learned that Dr. Lim had passed. She had been my dentist since the mid-90s, and over the last 10 years, we had been in touch outside of dentistry.
I am very sad and deeply sorry for your loss. Dr. Lim was an amazing dentist and a sheer force of nature. I have gotten used to not having her as a dentist, but I'm having trouble believing she is no longer with us.
Please accept my condolences to your family. I hope that her light, which shone so bright, continues to shine still.
My deepest sympathies, and my best wishes for peace in the coming days.
