Obituary of Juan Calvo

Juan J.Calvo was born in Camaguey, Cuba on December 26th, 1931 and died July 11th, 2020 in Sunnyside, NY. He obtained a doctorate of law in Cuba and emigrated to the United States in January 1961. He moved to Sunnyside, NY in 1967 and worked as a social worker for the city of New York. He was ordained as a Deacon on April 9th, 1983 and served Queens of Angels parish for all his diaconate. He also started a laundromat business in Sunnyside, NY. He was a prominent figure and loved by all. Beloved husband of the late Esperanza. He is survived by his three children: Miguel Calvo, Mary Konecko, and John Calvo. Cherished grandfather of Nicole Hope Capach, Joseph Konecko, Matthew Konecko, Joseph Calvo and Elizabeth Calvo. Visitation will be Monday, July 13 from 4-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Queen of Angels RCC, 44th Street And Skillman Avenue, Sunnyside, NY. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery following the Mass
