My deepest condolences to Gregory’s family. He was a very bighearted guy. Ironically I had an appointment at the building where he lived on east 9th street and found out he had passed the day before. We wrote an article together and had long talks about film shorts and tap dancing. He will be missed. A gentle giant.

Gregory...Gregory...what an amazing character, persona, human being! We were only 16,17 & 18 when his talents were exposed to me so , at that age, I really didn't know how incredible he was.
I know now.....I have missed you all these years and will continue, but now, with no relief.
Rest in Peace my friend.

Greg and i were close friends and writing partners when i learned of his death.
We had been working on preparing his writing for book form, transferring tapes and transcribing... We were negotiaing a contract for 3 books with our publisher bear Manor media... Greg was contributing to my king of jazz book, under contract now 3/4 finished... I was to help him edit and write intros for his wizard of Oz, tune talk, interviews with animation stars and producers, and a Hollywood legends interview book... Greg had just about wrapped up rewriting and copywriting his old material... Tragically, i have no access to any material we shared or what he had finished... Please help me get in contact with his estate, it would be a tragedy if it was all lost... I can no longer afford to pay the storage for all his tapes and records... fredwiebel@aol.com...

Greg was a long term friend from New York City ... we first met in high school never lost touch for long....he had a tremendous scope of knowledge and talent that spanned the history of classic films only matched by the personalities on TCM....His unique acquaintances and friends were in the entertainment world ...including Eli Wallach who recognized his help in on his autobiography ..as well as many actors and personalities that gave him a unique perspective on things past ....Rough at times but a big heart and a great sense of humor ...I'll miss his unique perspective on life past and present ...we love you Greg rest in peace ...

Greg was a friend. I’ll always remember Greg reciting Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales Prologue to a beat in Father Don’s English class. Father Don unaware of the depth and breadth of Greg’s “talents“ just stood and starred at Greg. Greg’s classmates quietly looked down at their desks and bit their tongues to avoid laughing and sparking the Father’s ire. As I sit and pray to thank God for Greg and his friendship I believe God also smiled that day on Greg’s soul and as He holds each of us he has Greg in His arms. Semper Fidelis, Dan

We just found out. Oh, we are so very sorry to her this. If someone can tell us what happened we'd appreciate it. We met Gregory in our Tap dance class in the 80's and we became friends. He was definitely one of a kind. He is now with his Mom and Dad. We were with Gregory the night his Dad died. So sorry we weren't with Gregory last December. We will miss him very much.
