Our friendship started as rivalries on different sides of the neighborhood. We both wanted only the best for our community and youth. Rivalry quickly turned to friendship. I could go on forever but will simply say my heart is broken and I will never forgive myself for not spending more time with you. I love you and I WILL see you again.
In his youth Gerry was one of our neighborhoods best athletes but he was even a better guy. He loved our neighborhood, we would always reminince about our youth and how great it was growing up in Sunnyside whenever we would see each other. He turned out to be a hell of a coach as well. My son had a game last night, Mcclancy versus Bishop Ford and prior to game there was a moment of silence for Geryy. He didn't even go to either of those schools . Just shows the respect and admiration the basketball community had for Gerry. We'll miss you bud. God Bless. Sean

RIP Coach Ing, he was a great mentor and teacher to me during my high school basketball career. I am forever grateful and thankful for that. My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Jerry.
I remember growing up with Gerry. He was a great guy. This is such sad news. I send my condolence to his family. RIP Gerry you will always be remembered.
Jerry will be missed more than he knows. He was an all around great guy that always had a smile on his face and a story to share. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family!
Graduated St. Raphael's with Jerry in 1974 and still remember playing football with him at Bear Mountain on a class trip in 8th Grade. My condolences to Jerry's family and friends.
