What a wonderful life you led, Rae. You were like family to us in Brooklyn, as our families were more than neighbors. Godspeed.

I first met Rae 38 years ago. Kind, funny, smart and ever nurturing. She was a fabulous matriarch and a wonderful role model and wife. Rae was a surrogate mother and advisor to many; myself included. So very sad to hear of her passing. Warm condolences to the entire family.

My love and condolences to the entire family.
I remember Walter taking me to Queens to meet Rae for the first time. I was so nervous. But she was so friendly, warm and welcoming that she immediately made me feel welcome into the family. The rest of the family as a result, got to know me and treated me as family.
Rae and I found out we had something in common. I always make sure I look nice and wear lipstick even when I go to the emergency room. Lol!
She was so full of life and love. She will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Rae. Until I see you again.

My deepest condolences to her family. She truly will be missed. When I went to see her, upstate NY . She was very sure of one thing. She is a Leon, a lion and she is strong. Stay strong family, and stay together in love. One thing I will always remember of our days in Brooklyn with Catalina, Olga and the rest of the family was that family togetherness was everything. Stay strong continue to stay together. Much love & many prayers Ms N. Baxter-Howard
