Obituary of Karen Demosthenous
Karen Demosthenous, age 67, of Woodhaven, died Monday, April 8, 2019 after a long battle with ALS. Karen was born April 7, 1952 in Flushing, NY. She graduated from Juilliard School of Music, was a volunteer music teacher at PS21 (known to them as Mrs. D), and loved animals and devoted her life to rescuing them.
Beloved wife of Savvas. Loving mother of Dina Mucciaccio and her husband Christopher. Dear sister of Debbie Gallagher, Nicholas Flammia, Richard Flammia, Michael Flammia, Glenn Flammia, Jeffrey Flammia, and Kenneth Flammia. Karen is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 11 from 6-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Queen of Angels RCC, 44th Street and Skillman Avenue, Sunnyside, NY.
