Obituary of John (Sean) Finn

John (Sean) Finn died peacefully at Mount Sinai, Queens Hospital on Friday, March 15th, 2019. He was 84 years old. He is survived by one brother, Kevin in England and by his family and many friends near and far. John (Sean) was born on September 14th, 1934 in Hazel Hill, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo, Ireland. He was the youngest of eleven children, born to Edward and Agnes Finn, nee Biesty. John (Sean) came to the United States in 1959. He lived in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn for many years and then moved to Jackson Heights, Queens. He later moved to Woodside, Queens where he resided for the remainder of his life. He worked for the Greyhound Bus Company for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Mayo Men's Society in New York and was a great fan of Gaelic football, but his greatest accomplishment was the kindness he exhibited for all. John (Sean) will be missed and remembered by the remaining family and friends he encountered during his long life. May he rest in peace. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19th from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY 11104. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 20th, 10:45am at Saint Sebastian Church 58-02 Roosevelt Avenue, Woodside, NY 11377. Visitation in Ireland will be held at Donnellan Funeral Home on Clare Street, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo. Funeral Mass will be celebrated and Burial will follow at Ballyhaunis Old Cemetery.
