Obituary of Gloria Shanahan

It is with sadness that we note the passing of Gloria B. Shanahan (née Hollings) on January 15, 2019. Gloria resided at Whispering Knoll Assisted Living facility in Edison, NJ and was 90 at the time of her death. She was born August 14,1928 in the Bronx, NY to Edward N. Hollings and Thelma Hollings ( née Wilson). She was married to John Shanahan of the Bronx for 54 years at the time of his death in 2002. She lived in Woodside, NY for 65 plus years. Gloria was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Gloria was a quiet but strong presence throughout her life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her sister Dorothy, her daughter Kathleen and her husband Steven, her son William and his wife Mary, her grandsons Ryan and Evan, their wives Katy and Kara, respectively, and grandsons Christopher, his wife Alexandra, and Cory. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Avery, Audrey and Connor. Viewing will be held on Friday, January 18th at Edward Lynch Funeral Home, 43-07 Queens Blvd., Sunnyside, NY 11104 from 2-5 and 7-9. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Sebastian's R.C. Church on Saturday, at 10:45 AM in the chapel. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery
