Obituary of Mihail G. Dutchevici

Mihail Dutchevici died of a heart-attack on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Elmhurst Hospital. Born November 30, 1947, Michael grew up in Bucharest and pursued law. Having graduated from law school with a perfect score, he became one of the youngest judges in Romania. Choosing not to become a member of the communist party, he struggled during Ceausescu's regime. In 1987, after two years of being separated from his wife Lucia, who emigrated from Romania to the United States for political and personal reasons, Michael and their daughter Silvia reunited in New York. Michael was a retired civilian member of the New York City Police Department and lived in Arkville, New York and was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia Dutchevici in 2013. He is lovingly remembered by: his grand-daughter, Adriana Treffs Dutchevici, and by his daughter Silvia, and his son-in-law Damian; and many friends both in the US and Romania. Visitation hours will be Thursday, July 26 from 6-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Funeral service will be performed by Father Radu Titonea at 7pm on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the funeral home. Cremation will be in Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village on Friday and it will be private. Dumnezeu sa-l ierte. Odihneasc?-se în pace!
