Obituary of Juan Antonio Rodriguez

Juan A. "Tony" Rodriguez, age 65, of Freeport, NY passed away on January 24, 2024. He is survived by his four children - Jennifer Rodriguez, Joanna (Brendan) Walsh, Danny (Chrissy Bridgeman) Rodriguez, Jimmy Rodriguez, his four grandchildren, Abigail Walsh, Liam Walsh, Annelice Walsh and Landon Walsh, along with his surviving siblings and countless friends. He was a beloved father, brother, son, uncle, cousin and best friend to many. Tony was born in Bronx NY, at St. Francis Hospital, and spent his childhood in both Puerto Rico and Queens NY. Tony served in the United States Army during the Cold War as a radio signaler stationed in Ramstein, Germany. He was a union worker through and through, as painter for the DC-9, a doorman and 580 ironworkers. Tony loved and lived life to the fullest, and had a unique knack for storytelling, making everyone who knew him laugh, cry and share in all the stories he told. The only thing that came close to his love for his family and friends was his love for his NY Mets and Jets. Our family is grateful to know that Tony is finally at peace. Funeral reception to be held Sunday, January 28, 2024 4pm-8pm Edward D Lynch Funeral Home, Inc. 43-07 Queens Blvd Sunnyside, NY 11104 Funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 29, 2024 10:30 am St. Raphael Roman Catholic Church 3520 Greenpoint Avenue Long Island City, NY 11101 All are welcome.
