Obituary of John R. Thurell Jr.

John R. Thurell Jr., age 93, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Mr. Thurell was born October 16, 1924 in Lynn, MA. John was a proud WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as an engineer for General Electric Corp. He was also a distinguished alumnus of North Eastern University. Beloved Husband of the late Elena (nee Georgescu). He is survived by loving nieces & nephews. Visitation will be Friday, March 9 from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. The funeral service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, in the Bronx, at 11:00 am.
