Catherine (Cadogan) Mulligan, lovingly known to family and friends as "Ga-Gee," passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, in Lithia, Florida, at the age of 87.

Catherine was born on January 21, 1939, in Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland. She spent her early years in the community that shaped her character and values before immigrating to the United States in 1957 in search of new opportunities and a brighter future. She settled in New York, where she met the love of her life, Patrick Mulligan. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and hard work.

Catherine and Patrick were blessed with two children, Michael and Ann Marie, who remained the pride and joy of their lives. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and later an adoring grandmother whose greatest happiness came from spending time with her family.

To those who knew her best, she was "Ga-Gee," a cherished nickname affectionately given to her by her niece, Ann. The name stayed with her throughout her life and reflected the warmth, kindness, and love she shared with everyone around her.

Catherine is survived by her son, Michael; her daughter, Ann Marie; her son-in-law, Anthony; and her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily, and Grace. She also leaves behind extended family and dear friends in both the United States and Ireland who will remember her with love and gratitude.

Catherine's life was defined by courage, beginning with her journey from Ireland to America, by her unwavering devotion to her family, and by the kindness she extended to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Instead of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Catherine's honor to support research and assistance for individuals and families affected by neurological diseases. Please consider contributions to either the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation, Parkinson's Disease Foundation, or the ALS Association. The family hopes these gifts will help advance research, improve patient care, and provide support to those facing these devastating illnesses.

Memorial Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, 43-07 Queens Blvd., Sunnyside, NY.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 27th, at 10:45 a.m. at Saint Sebastian, 58-02 Roosevelt Ave, Woodside, NY, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside.
