Marie Konecko Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Marie Konecko, (age 91) of Sunnyside, NY. Born and raised in Manhattan, NY on December 28, 1934 to her loving parents, Mary and Carmine Falco, Marie was known for her charitable and altruistic nature.

Marie dedicated much of her life to volunteering in the local church, in addition to being politically active across the borough of Queens. She aided the youth of St. Sebastian RC Church where she taught religious classes (CCD), helped implement the school library, and provided support to the CYO basketball and swimming teams. Among many other contributions to her community, she also served on the Queens Community Board in Woodside/Sunnyside for over 30 years. Marie held titles in the 37 AD, including District Leader and State Committee Woman for the Democratic party.

Above all else, Marie cherished her family. She was a devoted wife to Richard Konecko Sr, now reunited.

She is survived by her children Ramona, Debra, and Richard, grandchildren Denise and Kristen Finnegan + Nicole, Joseph, and Matthew Konecko, her great-grandchildren Thomas and Victoria, her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She made lasting memories that will be cherished forever!

Marie was predeceased by her parents Mary and Carmine Falco, beloved husband Richard J. Konecko, beloved daughter Ricarda, her beloved brother Clement, and her beloved sisters, Stella and Gerti.

Though she is gone, her legacy will always live on through her family and even in her community that she helped to shape!
