With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Babcia, Wanda Kawczak, who passed away peacefully at the age of 97, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on November 13, 1928, in Sztabin, Poland, Wanda lived a long and beautiful life filled with strength, kindness, resilience, and unconditional love. She was the heart of her family — a woman whose wisdom, warmth, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Wanda dedicated her life to her family and found joy in the simple things: family gatherings, home-cooked meals, sharing stories, and creating traditions that will live on for generations. Her love was steady and comforting, and her presence made every room feel like home.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth and Robert; her grandchildren, Yvette, Christopher, and Amanda; her great-grandchildren, Jesselyn, Christopher, and Tyler; her great-great-grandson, Noah; and many loved ones who will forever cherish her memory and carry her lessons forward.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Mirek, Dzidek, and Gieniek; her daughter, Dorthy; her son, Lester; and her beloved husband, Walter.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing she lived a full life rich with love, laughter, and family. Her legacy will continue in the lives she shaped and the memories we will hold close forever.

Our beloved Babcia is now at peace in the arms of the Lord, reunited with those who went before her. May perpetual light shine upon her, and may she rest in eternal peace. Amen.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20 from 4-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY.

Funeral Mass will be held 10am on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at St. Teresa RCC, 44th Street And 50th Avenue, Woodside, NY.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside on Thursday, May 21 at 11:15am.
