Obituary of Robert J. Scott

Robert J. “Bobby” Scott Jr. October 19, 1941 – October 1, 2025 Robert J. “Bobby” Scott Jr., 83, passed away on October 1, 2025. Born October 19, 1941, in New York, NY, Bobby made his home at Celtic Park in Woodside, NY, since 1978, where neighbors affectionately knew him as “the Mayor of the Celtics.” Bobby is survived by his loving sisters, Catherine Muir and Nora Murphy, and by many cherished nieces and nephews: Richard O’Keefe, Colleen Kovacs, Cathy Scott, Jimmy Scott, Francie Scott, Erin Murphy, Tommy Murphy, Raymond Dayre, and Lisa Sutton. He is reunited in peace with his parents, Robert J. Scott Sr. and Catherine, and with his siblings Patricia, Mary Ellen, and Jimmy, who predeceased him. A gifted photographer, Bobby rarely went anywhere without his camera, capturing family milestones and neighborhood moments with care and joy. He was a loyal friend to the local firefighters and a beloved presence in his community, known for his warmth, humor, and ability to connect with everyone he met. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5, from 3–8 p.m. at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc., 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Graveside Prayer Service will take place on Monday, October 6, at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bobby's memory to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, Donate - Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or St. Jude Children's Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Bobby will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
