Rosa María Cueto Martelo, 75, a resident of Queens, New York, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. Born on July 2, 1950, in Mahates, Bolívar, Colombia, she was the cherished daughter of Rafael Cueto Osorio and Gudelia Martelo Herrera.


In the mid-1970s, Rosa María immigrated to Venezuela in pursuit of new opportunities, where she distinguished herself as a successful entrepreneur. True to her adventurous spirit, she relocated to New York in the mid-1990s, where she found her true home and lived a full, joyful life. A lover of dance, Vallenato music, and the unmistakable flavor of fried bocachico, Rosa María brought joy to every moment.


She is survived by her children, Lissi Yelitza Corzo Cueto and José Luis Corzo Cueto; her daughter-in-law, Jessica Corzo; her grandchildren, Juan Pablo, Andrew, and Katherine Victoria; her siblings, Rita, Georgia, Elena, Judith, Rafael, Guillermo, and Eulises.


Rosa María will be fondly remembered for her radiant smile, her warrior spirit, and her generous heart, which left an indelible mark on her family and friends.


Visitation will be Friday, September 19 from 4-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY.


Funeral Mass will be held 10:45 am on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Queen Of Angels RCC, 44th Street And Skillman Avenue, Sunnyside, NY.


Cremation will be in Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village on Saturday, September 20 at 1:00 pm.

Rosa María Cueto Martelo, de 75 años, residente de Queens, Nueva York, falleció en paz el 16 de septiembre de 2025 en el Hospital Presbiteriano de Manhattan. Nació el 2 de julio de 1950 en Mahates, Bolívar, Colombia, y fue la amada hija de Rafael Cueto Osorio y Gudelia Martelo Herrera.


A mediados de los años 70, Rosa María emigró a Venezuela en busca de nuevas oportunidades, destacándose como una emprendedora exitosa. Fiel a su espíritu aventurero, a mediados de los 90 se estableció en Nueva York, donde encontró su hogar y vivió una vida plena y feliz. Apasionada por el baile, la música vallenata y el sabor inconfundible de un buen bocachico frito, Rosa María sabía cómo llenar de alegría cada instante.


Le sobreviven sus hijos, Lissi Yelitza Corzo Cueto y José Luis Corzo Cueto; su nuera, Jessica Corzo; sus nietos, Juan Pablo, Andrew y Katherine Victoria; sus hermanos, Rita, Georgia, Elena, Judith, Rafael, Guillermo, y Eulises.


Rosa María será recordada por su hermosa sonrisa, su espíritu guerrero y su generoso corazón, que dejó una huella imborrable en su familia y amistades.


El servicio conmemorativo se llevará a cabo el viernes 19 de septiembre de 2025, de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., en la Funeraria Edward D. Lynch, ubicada en 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Long Island City, Nueva York 11104.
