Dear Monique,
Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved Jeannot.
We have such fond memories of the times spent with you both in your beautiful home in the Catskills. The meals were, of course, delicious and owing to Jeannot's incredible sense of humor, the conversations were fantastic. During one of those visits, Jeannot who was always very kind, gave me some of his hunting gear. Every time I look at it, the fond memories return.
We believe that the past few years were difficult for both of you and we hope you believe that Jeannot is in a peaceful place now.

Damien & Audrey

Very dear Monique,
Please accept our deepest condolences. Jeannot was a very good and important friend to us. He was a mentor to many,
and a great professional highly respected. I remember fondly going trout fishing with him, watching him deboning chicken breast
elegantly, and making pate with sweetbread and orange zests. We went out a lot, enjoyed each other company, and we were like
family. My dear Jeannot I miss you very much !

My father-in-law Jeannot was completely welcoming and kind from the first day we met. He was jovial, expressive and very warm to me. He enjoyed his grandchildren. I delighted in watching him cook. Often, as breakfast was done, he was already engaged in preparation for lunch. I will always remember him for showing me how wonderful a simple salad could taste with an excellent vinaigrette. We call the staple dressing he made "Papy Jeannot's Vinaigrette, and I have shared this beloved recipe in approximate measures with many grateful friends and family members.
I will miss his light heart, tenderness, sense of humor and big smile.

My father: He certainly was a "bon vivant" in every sense of the word. He had an unflagging work ethic and had a great sense of humor, meticulous , kind, with a forgiving heart. Although comfortable in the city I always felt him to be more at home in the forest rather than in the city's noisy kitchens. Nature was his refuge. When I was a kid and we were camping outdoors, in the middle of nowhere in Canada, he would sometimes go out armed with only a stick and would come back with a rabbit for dinner. He showed me how to catch game by building snares. In a way, he reminded me of one of the Marcel Pagnol's characters. Fearless and quick he would often hold aloft snakes that he had just caught. He was an excellent cook and would always challenge me (and others) to taste something new hearts, brains, kidneys, sweetbreads.
He had boundless energy, often walking for hours while hunting. We would always greet each other in patois, the language of Occitanie: "quim bas? Ba plau!" that was basically it for me, his vocabulary was much more extensive. He deeply loved his wife, Monique, Lisa and me and his grand-children.
I will really miss his spirit, his humor and his love of life.
I know you will too...
