Maria A. Zambrano Montalvan-Loor, born on October 8, 1937 entered into eternal rest on May 30, 2025. A loving mother and wife to Luis F. Loor, she cherished times spent with friends and family, specifically her five children; Fred (Rosemarie), Gina (Joe), Ana (Peter), Sonia (Joe) and Yesenia (Paul), her grandchildren, Anthony, Lisamarie, Stephanie, Michelle, Joseph, Michael, Nicole, Samantha, Staci, Kelly, Jack, Daniel, Julie, Karan, Tahra and Jeevan, as well as her 20 great-grandchildren.

Maria was born in Canuto, Ecuador, the oldest of ten children. She arrived in Queens, New York in 1969 searching for the immigrant dream of a better life. She embraced the energy of working in New York City while working as a seamstress for many years. She also enjoyed looking after the neighborhood kids, among other jobs, and together with her husband raising their five children.

She touched so many people with her cooking skills, creating dishes in a quick snap and feeding everyone that walked through her door. She was a frequent shopper at JC Penney's and ABC Variety store. Maria was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Her love will continue through those lives she touched.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4 from 4-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY.
