Obituary of Francisco Ortiz

Francisco Javier Ortiz, 68, of Jackson Heights, New York, passed away on May 18, 2025 in Regal Park Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service will be held at June 28, 2025 on 11:00 AM with Reverend Pedro Cuevas of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church officiating at the Interment. Francisco was born in Colombia to Luis Eduardo Ortiz Pérez and Idaly Mesa del Rio on September 25, 1956. He went to school at Liceo Cartago and graduated in 1974, and he went on to pursue a college education before civil unrest ended his college career. He worked for Magellan Inc, for 36 years. He enjoyed activities like going to the opera and the theater, and he was an avid fan of soccer. Recently, he received an award for attaining 35 years at his organization. Francisco is survived by his sister Margarita, Ortiz De Piedrahita of Cartago, his partner, Dane Michael Tracey of Jackson Heights, New York, and family from Colombia , and family of his partner from Pennsylvania and Maryland. Memorial donations may be made Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 33–50 82nd St., Jackson Heights, NY 11372. Francisco was kind and gentle soul who was taken from us far too soon.
