Obituary of Virginia K. Seibert
Virginia K. Seibert, age 81, of Woodside, New York passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2025. Virginia, known as Ginny, was born on October 9, 1943, in Queens, New York, the daughter of the late Andrew and Katherine Seibert. Ginny Seibert was a cherished member in the family and a dear friend to many, she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and a deep appreciation for the world.
Early on in her advertising career Ginny headed to San Francisco, working in the media departments of several advertising agencies and as an account executive at Christian Brothers. She joined Sunset Magazine after her time at Franciscan Vineyards, where she was director of marketing and public relations. During her time at Sunset, the magazine was known as "The Magazine of Western Living", a guide to life in the West, including travel, food, gardening, and home design. It was a popular source for readers seeking inspiration for their daily lives and representative of so many of Ginny's passions. Her career at Sunset led her back to the East Coast and closer to family. She later spent time with The Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), an organization that verifies and certifies the circulation of print and digital media, which provide a valuable service to the media industry.
Back on the East Coast she enjoyed spending time visiting museums, appreciating nature and loved visiting the beaches of Long Island. After a successful career in advertising Ginny dedicated her time to helping others. She found a great deal of pleasure and a sense of reward in her role as an Adult Education Instructor or ESOL tutor (English for Speakers of Other Languages) in her neighborhood. Ginny was active in her community and especially enjoyed her church, St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church.
Ginny's generous spirit was contagious and she always had a compliment and kind word to share. While her career was important it didn't get in the way of a life filled with adventures. Sailing, hiking, camping and a love of the great outdoors kept Ginny entertained. She shared and passed on those passions with her family and friends.
Virginia was a devoted aunt and a friend to many. She is survived by numerous cousins, nine (many) nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
She touched the lives of many with her warm heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished forever.
A private service will be held for the immediate family.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Virginia on Sunday, October 5th at 10:00 at a mass at St. Sebastian's Church in Woodside, New York.
A Celebration of Life is planned following her mass from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The specific location is currently pending and will be shared at a later date.
Virginia is at peace and will always carry her memory in our hearts.
In the beauty of memories left behind, in the lives touched and changed, in the gifts of wisdom shared…those we love live on, always. – Ellen Brenneman
