Obituary of Mary Poris

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary (Maria) Poris, a beloved mother and grandmother, who peacefully entered eternal rest on April 22, 2025. She was a cherished member of her family and church community, known for her unwavering faith, kindness, and loving spirit. Mary dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her children and grandchildren, always placing their needs above her own. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and encouragement, reflecting the love of Christ that she carried in her heart. A faithful servant of the Lord, Mary found strength and hope in God's promises throughout her life. She was an active member of her church, where she shared her gifts and inspired others through her testimony and example, remaining devoted until declining health prevented her from attending. Outside the church, she unashamedly went out of her way to tell others about Jesus, boldly sharing her faith wherever she went. She is lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. Though we mourn her loss, we rejoice in the assurance of her eternal life with our Savior, Jesus Christ. A private memorial service celebrating Mary's life and faith will be held on April 26 at Kenciso Cemetery, in Valhalla, NY.
