Obituary of Mary Sheerin

Mary Sheerin (nee Cadogan) native of Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland and longtime resident of Woodside, Queens passed away on Tuesday February 11, 2025, at the age of 88 peacefully and surrounded by her loving family. Our loving mother was the rock of our family and will be forever dearly missed. Mary had many friends in the New York area, especially in Woodside and her beloved country home, the Four Green Fields. She was a longtime superintendent in Woodside and worked many years at St. Sebastian's Parish Rectory. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed marching in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in NYC with her fellow members of the County Cork B.P.&P Associations of NY. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Michael V. Sheerin. Loving mother to Ann Pirock (Bernie), Mary Ellen Borg (Joe), the late Michael P. (Ellen) and James (Nicola). Cherished Nana of Joey, Christen, Neive, Michael, Brendan, Megan, Caitlin, and Leah. Also survived by her loving sister Catherine Mulligan (Paddy), nephew, Michael and niece Ann Marie and beloved cousins in Ireland. Visitation will be Friday, February 14 from 4-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at St. Sebastians RCC, 58th Street And Roosevelt Avenue, Woodside, NY.
