Bernard Matthew "Ben" Ward, born on June 11, 1950, in Molly, Aughnacliffe, County Longford, Ireland, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, in Bartonsville, Pennsylvania. A longtime resident of Woodside, Queens, New York, Ben embraced his Irish heritage while cherishing the vibrant and diverse community he called home.

Ben was the beloved son of Matthew Ward and Dympna Hevey. He will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband to Bridget Anne Ward and a loving father to his two sons, Matthew and Andrew. He found great joy in being a grandfather to his cherished granddaughters, Kayley and Erin. Ben also shared a close bond with his siblings Maureen, Tony, Peggy, Prisca, Dympna, and Jerome, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

For nearly 40 years, Ben dedicated himself to helping others through Alcoholics Anonymous as a grand sponsor. His compassion and unwavering support guided countless individuals on their paths to recovery, leaving an enduring legacy of hope and encouragement.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 30 from 4-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY.

Prayer Service will be held 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY.
