Luz Salvador Evangelista, age 88, of Jersey City, NJ, formerly of Jackson Heights, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Cusack Care Center of Jersey City, NJ. Luz was born May 21, 1928 in Manila, Philippines. Beloved wife of Ceferino. Loving mother of Maria Luisa De Castro and her husband Oscar, Yolanda Evangelista, Noemi Evangelista, Elizabeth Miguel and her husband Cesar, Manuel Evangelista and his wife Liway, Orlando Evangelista and his wife Tess and Simonette Lucido and her husband Reynaldo. Dear grandmother of Carlo, Karen, David, Olivia, Dino, Issa Czarina, Geraldo, Mikaela, Frances Joyce, Michelle, Chevy, Mark, Stephannie, Roxanne and Peter. Cherished great-grandmother of Cara, Nigel, Joaquin, Zachary, Bea, Tricia Jane, Ethan, Wesley and Noah. Loving sister of Elias Salvador, Rosa Briones, Grace Balatbat and Myrene Torres. Luz is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, March 24 from 5-9Pm at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at St. Mary's Church (Winfield), 70-20 47th Avenue Woodside, NY. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens following the Mass.
