Obituary of Robert Koshinsky

Robert Koshinsky, age 73, of Brooklyn died of pneumonia on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY. A Brooklyn native he enlisted in the Army in 1960 and was stationed in Germany until 1962. Upon his return to Brooklyn he began a 20+ year career working for Malcom Forbes as a security guard in what is now known as Forbes Galleries in Manhattan. In 1968 he married JoAnn(nee Hudick) at The Russian Orthodox Cathedral. They had two children Richard and Michael and resided in in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. JoAnn and Bob loved to visit Pennsylvania and made their dream a reality when they purchased The Brownstown Restaurant in the town by the same name. Malcolm Forbes and Elizabeth Taylor rode their Harley's to visit them in 1986 which made the local front news. Brooklyn was always in their hearts and they returned in 1999. Bob was soon employed by The Knickerbocker Club in Manhattan as a security guard for the next 12 years, until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in September 2012. He is survived by his loving sister Leondra Lentol and her husband Eddie Lentol. His children Robert, Dawn, Richard, Michael and his grandchildren Sara, Robert and Richard. As well as his 4 Nephews and 1 Niece. Visitation will be Sunday, March 12 from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY with a Prayer Service at 7:30pm. The funeral will be held 10:30 on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth.
