Obituary of Ramesh B. Singh

Ramesh B. Singh, son of Bachitter and Permeshari Singh, husband of Kamal Singh, father of Anurag Singh and Rachna Ahuja, grandfather of Saira Ahuja has left a gaping void on this earth when he died on Monday, January 9th, 2017. He was a lively man of 75 years who, till his dying breath, took care of his entire house hold and beyond. His love, energy and life force seemed boundless. It was so easy to take him for granted because of this. Ramesh was the oldest of 6 children: Harriet, Violet, Alfred, Robert and Margaret. He was born and raised in Firozpur, India. He moved on for training in nursing to Dharival. He went on to work as a nurse in All India Institute (AIIMS) in New Delhi. He finally made his way to the good Ol' USA in 1978 and worked as an RN for 35 years at Coler Memorial Hospital. While working full time and often working overtime on his night shifts to support his family, he also supported his wife's business endeavors since 1987. Ramesh was an extremely hard working, loving and giving man who never asked for anything in return. We all remember how he would always be in the background working hard to make sure everybody was eating and drinking and having a good time at any gathering at our home. He never sought acknowledgment. He did so much for so many people and had the warmest smile when helping. In fact, he was the happiest when he was able to do something good for others. His loss is devastating to so many people who would not be here if it wasn't for his generous heart and hard work. He was a friend, mentor, guide, support and father figure to his family and countless others. His loss is beyond bearable. Rest In Peace Ramesh B. Singh. We can take comfort knowing that you will always be in our hearts. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11 from 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Burial will be Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery 65-40 Grand Ave, Maspeth, NY.
