Obituary of Ralph Calamusso

Ralph Calamusso, 89, entered into eternal life April 22 at the Chapin Home for the Aging in Jamaica, Queens. The son of Guiseppe and Maria Calamusso (Amoia), he was a life-long resident of Queens. Ralph was employed as a special needs bus driver for Varsity Transit until his retirement. He was a member of Division 1181, Amalgamated Transit Union. He is predeceased by his brothers Vito, Joseph, and Jerry and sisters Celia (Mazzei) and Anna (Defino). He is survived by a sister, Madeline (Volpicelli). He was a loving uncle to Robert Calamusso, Richard Calamusso, JoAnn Calamusso (Supper), Nancy Calamusso (McGrath), Jane Calamusso (Spoerl), Rosemarie Calamusso (Macaluso), Joy Defino (Pastore), Linda Mazzei (De Filippo), Angela Mazzei (Long), and the late Joseph Calamusso, and the late Lorraine Mazzei. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Edward Lynch Funeral Home, 43-07 Queens Blvd., Long Island City, NY on Friday, April 24 from 3-5 p.m. and 6:30-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Church, 3520 Greenpoint Ave., LIC. Burial will follow at 12:45 in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ralph's name to the Chapin Home for the Aging, 165-01 Chapin Parkway, Jamaica, NY, 11432.
