Obituary of Mary T Martin

Martin, Mary T. nee Duer died on April 17, 2014. Devoted Daughter of the late Alexander and Fannie Duer. Beloved wife for 61 years of the late Edward (Retired Detective for NYPD). Mary was a superb athlete, as a gymnast, basketball player and coach. Mary and her husband organized the first Catholic Youth Organization at St. Catherine of Siena School (E. 68th Street, NYC). She was a loyal and dedicated employee for 28 years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. Loving mother of Kathleen Viskup, Thomas and Lynne Ann Martin, Therese and Larry McGuinness, and the late Maryann and Bill Donlon. Devoted grandmother of seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Reposing at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY 11104 on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 2-5pm and 7-9:30pm. Funeral mass will be Friday, April 25, 2014 at 9:30am at St. Raphael's RCC. Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery, Riverhead, NY.
